At Harbord OOSH, we place our relationships with children and families at the heart of our service. Our caring and dedicated educators build genuine connections with children and families, creating a welcoming community where children feel comfortable, supported where they belong. 

We want every child to feel safe, happy, heard, valued and free to be themselves. We take the time to get to know each child, their interests, strengths, friendships and individual needs, recognising that every child brings something special to our community. 

We believe Harbord OOSH is a place where children can be children. We provide opportunities for children to play, create, explore, be active, make friends and have fun. We offer a variety of experiences while also allowing children the freedom to choose what interests them and how they want to spend their time. 

Children's voices matter at Harbord OOSH. We listen to their ideas, opinions and suggestions and use these to help shape our program and their experiences. We encourage children to make choices, share their thoughts and know that they are listened to. 

Child safety and wellbeing are everyone's responsibility. We are committed to creating an environment where children feel physically and emotionally safe, know they can approach educators for help, and feel confident to speak up about things that make them happy, uncomfortable or concerned. We listen, respond and take every child's wellbeing seriously. 

We celebrate the diversity of our children and families, encouraging kindness, respect, inclusion and acceptance. We work in partnership with families, Harbord Public School and our wider community to create a strong sense of connection and belonging.
